LOS ROBLES Where Every Moment is a Celebration!
Our Story: From Live Oak to Los Robles
Los Robles was born from a dream to create a place where community, culture, and pride collide. In 2023, we transformed this historic space into a nightlife destination that celebrates Latin heritage, LGBTQ+ identity, and the rich history of the building we call home.
Built in 1915 and surrounded by live oak trees more than 120 years old, the house was once home to the beloved Live Oak Bar and, before that, to generations of families who filled it with music, laughter, and love. Photographs of the Orr, Thompson, and Boyle families continue to preserve the spirit of community that existed here long before us.
From jazz loving sisters Ora and Era Thompson to Ruby Mae Thompson Boyle, who hosted legendary gatherings here during the 1930s, this has always been a place where people came together and memories were made. We are proud to carry that tradition forward.
Today, Los Robles is led by Aaron, owner of a local limo company, and Raul, a longtime Houston bartender who began his journey at Los Tios. Together, they have helped build something that is much more than a bar: a safe and welcoming space where people can dance freely, laugh loudly, celebrate their culture, and be unapologetically themselves.
Since opening, Los Robles has become a home for Latin music, drag, karaoke, live entertainment, cultural celebrations, local artists, community fundraisers, and organizations working to uplift Houston’s LGBTQ+ and immigrant communities. Whether we are celebrating Pride, supporting someone in need, amplifying an important cause, or simply bringing people together for a night of dancing, our community remains at the heart of everything we do.
As we continue to grow, our mission is to create even more opportunities for local performers, artists, vendors, and community organizations while preserving the warmth, culture, and sense of belonging that have made Los Robles feel like home.
Because here at Los Robles, every night feels like the family parties we grew up with, just with a little more glitter, louder music, and a whole lot of pride.
